Question

Hello, I am a new Linux user, 2 days ago I installed Mint 20 on a new SSD, my PC is a Gigabyte BRIX. BXBT 2807.

Everything appeared to install ok, but when I first ran it the Firefox had a corrupted homepage and would only show the Mint browser page, I tried to correct the address but it would not let me do anything, so long story short I uninstalled FF and loaded Brave, which I am used to, no problem.

However, I have noticed the system will not shut down correctly, it remains in a small LM screen and PC still has the power light on.

I have tried entering the command but result is still the same, system has no drivers added, but seems to work well, system fastboot is not turned on.

I have looked at log but not being familiar with system yet I can't see any problem.

Any advice appreciated

Regards Tony

Hi tony,

Can you try installing all the drivers and see if everything is working correctly?

If it does not work, do a fresh installation of Linux Mint 20 on your computer and see if everything works.

If it still doesn't work, then check the health of your SSD. If you have written past the TBW limit of your SSD, then attempting to write new data there may corrupt the data.
