What to do if Linux installer does not recognise existing windows 10 installation

Question

I have tried installing both ubuntu 20 and linux mint alongside windows 10 on my desktop, but in neither case does the installer recognise the windows 10 installation.  My system comprises an Asus F1A75-V Pro Motherboard, an AMD A8-3870 APU with Radeon HD graphics and 8GB RAM.  Can you help?

Hi John,

In that case, free up a partition from Windows and install Linux in that partition. Once Linux is installed, the Linux bootloader should detect existing Windows installation and you should be able to boot both Windows and Linux.

I hope that helps. Let me know what happens.
