Question

Hi,

I would appreciate it if somebody can give me a simple solution.

I followed install instruction of XnViewMP on Linux Mint19.3 as shown in: https://linuxhint.com/xnview-mp-ubuntu-linux-mint/

The install was successful. However, now I wish to uninstall XnViewMP.

I followed instruction as shown on same website: sudo apt-get remove XnViewMP

and got following response:  E: Unable to locate package XnViewMP

I admit I am not an experienced Linux user, but I expected it to be a bit easier.

Best regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Find the exact package name with the following command:

$ sudo apt list --installed | grep --ignore-case xnview

Once you do, you can remove it using the following command:

$ sudo apt remove <packageName>

Replace <packageName> with the package which you want to remove.

I hope this helps.

Shovon
